    <dc:description>The Glasgow Group is a Scottish artists cooperative run by Glasgow based visual artists to promote the visual arts in Glasgow and the West of Scotland.

Being an artists cooperative all decisions are arrived at democratically by a majority vote of the artists members. In 2000 the group introduced Portfolio Shows of unframed works. This allowed them to invite larger numbers of Scottish visual artists and a growing number of European artists to exhibit. In this work the group is financially supported by the artist members and donations from supporters. It currently receives no support from the city of Glasgow or the Scottish Arts Council</dc:description>
