    <dc:description>City Projects is a visual art commissioning agency and production company. It is run by a committee and is directed on a freelance basis by Kate Parker, an independent producer specialising in Artists’ Film. 

City Projects commissions ambitious new work which responds sensitively and critically to its social and political context. It aims to nurture new work during its development and production phases and to produce work that consolidates and extends an artists practice, as well as challenging current art practice in general.

City Projects was constituted as an Industrial and Provident Society in 2003 by a founding committee of Andrew Hunt, Kate Parker and Nigel Wilkinson. Current committee members are Stephen Beasley, Kate Parker and Nigel Wilkinson.

Dan Kidner directed the organisation from its founding until 2009. From 2009 the organisation began to specialise in Artists’ Film, with Kate Parker and Dan Kidner co-directing until 2011 when Dan left to direct Picture This, Bristol, and to continue with other research projects. Since 2011 Kate Parker has directed the organisation. 

City Projects continues to support artists in the production of new work from early stages of development of the work through fundraising, production and distribution - as is relevant to each work. The particular structure of each project is developed to suit the work and the support services which are provided to the artist are tailored to the projects needs.

The organisation aims to remain small and independent, working in partnership with other institutions on a project-by-project basis.</dc:description>
