NameClimate Cafe Hub
DescriptionResponding to climate anxiety We are responding to climate anxiety, our emotional response to concerns about the increasing number of signs of climate breakdown. People can experience feelings of despair, anger and grief as they accept the reality of what is happening. A climate café is a simple, hospitable, empathetic space where anyone’s fears and uncertainties about our climate crisis can be safely expressed. A space in which we do not talk about what we or others are doing or should be doing. Instead we talk about climate change and how it is making us think and feel. In the process of engaging with our own climate anxiety, we can also deepen our understanding of how climate anxiety plays out both in our individual lives and in our culture. We hope that this work can lead us towards acceptance, developing resilience and hope for the future for ourselves and for our planet.
