    <dc:description>In July 2019, over 400 people invested in community shares to purchase the Crunchy Carrot, the independent greengrocer and wholefoods shop at the heart of Dunbar's High Street. 

The shop had served the community for 18 years when the owners decided to move on/retire. Working with the owners, Community Carrot will take on the shop to ensure this vital community asset remains open to all.

As well as selling quality foodstuffs, the shop serves several social functions including free delivery to the elderly, the provision of nutritional advice, and supports a wide range of activities including local charities and the food bank. It plays a central role in keeping Dunbar High Street in a healthy state along with the independent butchers, fishmongers and community bakery. 

As a registered Community Benefit Society, Community Carrot aims to maintain those social functions and expand them where possible.</dc:description>
