DescriptionThe White Horse Public House The White Horse Public House has been operating in Church Fenton since 1881, providing catering and restaurant facilities. Sadly it stopped trading in Autumn 2016 and the community has missed having a pub and restaurant in the heart of the village. It was listed as an ‘Asset of Community Value’ (ACV) with Selby District Council on 28th October 2017, providing a six month protected status until 24th April 2018. Due to a small group of determined people, a proactive and forward thinking Parish Council and support from our amazing village and the wider community, the pub in the centre of the village was purchased on Monday, 25th June 2018 by the Parish Council using a Public Works Loan, approved by the government. CFCH Ltd is now in the final stages of agreeing terms with an experienced tenant and as soon as the lease is agreed, the group will share their vision with you, which is an exciting venture for the village of Church Fenton. The group will be working with the tenants to refurbish the pub and hope to re-open at the end of the year. In order to manage the period whilst the pub is refurbished and therefore unable to generate an income, CFCH Ltd launched a share offer to raise funds. This offer is open until the 1st October and the aim is to raise £50,000. Being a shareholder also allows you to have a say on who is on the committee and how any surplus income in the future may be spent.
