    <dc:description>Jubilee tower Credit Union is a not-for-profit organisation providing financial services to the local community, such as loans and savings. As a credit union the organisation is owned by the people (members) that hold savings in it and is run by and for these members rather than shareholders. Each member saves into a common pot with can then be lent out amongst other members, also known as ethical saving.

Jubilee Tower Credit Union was founded in 1996 by the Sudellside Community Association. originally operating from a community centre once a week, the Credit Union has grown steadily and now covers the whole of the borough and has Darwen Town Centre head office.

Jubilee Tower Credit Union has provided the local community saving schemes and competitively priced loans for the last fifteen years. Hundreds of people within Blackburn with Darwen has been aided in better managing their money since 1996 and the Credit Union currently has around 1,700 adult members and 1,125 'Young Savers'. In 2010 we were proud to announce that we managed to save the people of Blackburn with Darwen £92,000 in interest payments.</dc:description>
