Operated by Caledonian Marts, owners of the Stirling Livestock Centre, who lease the facility that was developed by the local community in 1994 at a cost of £1 million. The development was a response to the closure of the former cattle market in the town centre by owners United Auctions in 1991, which was subsequently redeveloped as a supermarket.
