    <dc:description>There are currently eleven Country Markets in Somerset – nine come under the umbrella of Somerset Country Markets and there are two single market societies.  We all belong to a nationwide organisation (Country Markets, based in Chesterfied) which represents around 400 markets in England, Wales and the Channel Islands.

We are a co-operative social enterprise, registered with the Industrial Provident Society.

Each market is run by a committee, which manages all of the day-to-day aspects of running the market.  They are supported by local Market Advisers, who offer practical advice and ensure consistency and quality across the county and by Country Markets, which  provides guidance on legal responsibilities relating to trading standards and environmental health; best practice plus useful business advice.</dc:description>
