    <dc:description>The Four Greens Community Trust is for people living in the north west of Plymouth, an area of high unemployment and deprivation. Residents are being invited to sign up for a scheme that could unlock careers, opportunities and skills for their family and friends.

Plymouth City Council has set aside property and land in the area, worth about £3 million, which could be run by the community.

Working together with stakeholders, residents have not only had the opportunity to look at how they want assets used, but also at how they will organise themselves. They have developed a vision and mission for their new trust which will be an incorporated CIC (community interest company). This collaboration enabled a steering group to be elected in October 2013 with clear terms of reference to help progress the new trust into a legal entity with a fully constituted board.

A former care home is already earmarked as the trust's headquarters and a possible base for new businesses. The full board of directors will be elected in October from the local communities.

Residents who are already part of the initiative were given a sneak glimpse of the boarded-up Whitleigh care home to see what their headquarters might look like. It is one of a number of council-owned assets that could be run by the Four Greens Trust on behalf of the community.</dc:description>
